The ego needs to feel a sense of belonging in order to feel safe in his unsafe, inhabitable world. If he but knew the safety and the connection he had with everything, he would not need this tool in order to be safe. Why would you need to feel safe if you knew that your brothers, and everything around you, was you? Why would you attack yourself? If you weren’t attacking yourself, you’d need no protection, no tool against it, no need to belong. Why would you feel the need to belong if you knew you were already one with all?
So the ego needs a tool. In order to feel a sense of continuity and belonging, cause and effect was thence put into place. Without it, there would be no need to belong, to right your wrongs, to make sense of good or bad decisions. There’d be no need to endure family, friendships, relations of all kinds. But with it, a sticky glue binds you to all you see, think, feel, hear, sense, and perceive. It leaves you wanting, leaves you needing to undo, redo, fix, repeat, and replace. It brings you back again and again for more of the same. Always the same. Only does it seem that relationships are different, locations are different, people are different. All are the same game. Everywhere you look, all that you perceive, it’s all the same game.
